The Den Poker Lounge plans to hold its formal grand opening in Rowlett, Texas, on November 12. The members' club was founded by Marjorie Bradford and Jamie Kempf, and PokerNews describes it as the first Texas poker room owned exclusively by women.
Doors are scheduled to open at 3 p.m. local time, followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. The venue is listed at 6320 Dalrock Road in Rowlett, northeast of Dallas, and PokerAtlas records seven poker tables and a minimum age of 21.
Kempf told PokerNews that the project had been in development for more than two years. The founders intend to make the club especially welcoming to women while remaining open to all eligible players. The concept combines poker tables with a broader social-club setting rather than limiting the venue to women-only games.
Like other Texas card rooms, The Den says it will use a membership model rather than taking a percentage from pots. That structure is common in the state but operates in a legally contested environment, so the opening does not settle wider questions about Texas poker-room law. The immediate event is a new independently owned venue entering the Dallas-Fort Worth market with an inclusion-focused business model.
