Wildz Group says it has received an online-gambling licence for Finland's new competitive market, with sportsbook supplier Altenar preparing the technology that will support its entry. The companies expect licensed online betting and casino operations to begin when the market opens on July 1, 2027.

Altenar described Wildz as the first operator to announce a Finnish licence publicly in its company release. The licence statement comes from the companies, and the available sources did not provide a public regulator register entry independently confirming the award.

Finland is replacing Veikkaus's exclusive position in online betting and casino games with a licensing system for private operators. iGaming Business reports that the new framework is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2027, while lotteries and certain land-based products remain under exclusive rights.

Wildz and Altenar have worked together on sports betting since 2024. The operator's sportsbook announcement identifies Altenar as its platform provider, and G3 Newswire says the Finnish launch will use localized content and Nordic trading support. Commercial terms were not disclosed.
