Tunisia's draft 2027 Finance Bill proposes raising the tax on covered games and competitions from 40% to 60%. The change appears in Article 24 and remains subject to parliamentary approval, according to reports from La Presse de Tunisie and Mosaique FM.

The proposed rate is twenty percentage points above the current 40% level. It should not be described as effective law while lawmakers are still considering the finance bill.

The additional receipts would be directed toward the account used to diversify funding for Tunisia's social-security system. That links the gambling-tax proposal to a wider budget effort to reinforce social protection rather than presenting it as a standalone sector measure.

iGaming AFRIKA brought the proposal to a wider industry audience on October 26. The practical effect on operators will depend on the final wording adopted by Parliament and the taxable base to which the higher rate applies.
