North Fork Mono Casino opened in Madera, California, at 3 p.m. on October 27, one day earlier than its previously announced opening date. The property is owned by the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians and managed by Station Casinos, a subsidiary of Red Rock Resorts, according to the opening report from G3 Newswire.
The 264,000-square-foot casino includes more than 2,400 slot machines and 40 table games. A separate high-limit room has 138 slots, 10 tables, a private bar and a dedicated cashier. The opening release says the venue also offers eight dining outlets and four bars.
The development sits near Highway 99 in California's Central Valley. The Red Rock Resorts release reproduced by MarketScreener puts the all-in project cost at approximately $750 million and says the operating complex created more than 1,500 local jobs across gaming, hospitality and food service.
The current opening covers the casino and its food-and-beverage venues. Earlier project materials described a 200-room hotel as a later phase, so the resort should not be presented as a completed hotel opening. The early debut follows years of development and legal challenges, but the company release focuses on the operating launch and does not state that every related dispute has ended.
