Crystal Bay Casino in Nevada has introduced RAPIDPLAY cashless funding on selected slot machines. The October deployment lets patrons scan a QR code and transfer money from a bank account at the machine instead of leaving the gaming floor to use an ATM.
PokerNews identifies the Lake Tahoe-area property as the first casino installation of the system. The venue operates more than 180 slot machines, although the report does not specify how many terminals currently support RAPIDPLAY.
The technology was developed as a Light & Wonder cashless solution with pay-by-bank infrastructure. A 2024 product announcement described the model as a mobile flow that keeps the funding step at the gaming machine. The current deployment also names Koin Payments as the payment technology provider.
Cashless funding changes the payment method but not the underlying wagering controls. Players still move money into a gaming balance, and the installation does not make the machines free-to-play or remove responsible-gambling requirements. The Nevada launch provides a live venue test for a product first announced more than two years earlier.
