Reigning World Series of Poker Main Event champion Lucas Jumalon has become the global ambassador for the WSOP Academy app. The 22-year-old will front a season-long tour designed to identify a player who can earn a seat in the 2027 WSOP Main Event.
The PokerNews report presents the appointment as Jumalon's next public role after his 2026 Main Event victory. His Academy position is separate from the representation agreement he signed with Poker Royalty in August.
According to the official WSOP announcement, Jumalon will visit Circuit events and host meet-up games for Academy customers. One player at each stop will receive a complimentary seat in the corresponding WSOP Circuit Main Event.
At the end of the tour, Jumalon will choose one player from the meet-up winners to compete in the 2027 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. That package includes the $10,000 tournament entry and mentorship from the reigning champion, although WSOP has not published the complete selection criteria or full tour schedule.
The first stop is set for November 13 at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham, United Kingdom. WSOP also plans to film the tour for a series on its official YouTube channel, with the opening episode expected in late November.
