Vietnamese casinos will be able to verify customer identities through the national VNeID application from November 15, 2026. The change adds a digital option to entry checks as the country prepares tougher sanctions for operators that admit ineligible customers.

Asia Gaming Brief reports that casinos may use the electronic identity system alongside existing documentation. The measure is intended to make eligibility checks faster and easier to audit.

A separate SiGMA report says organisational fines for allowing ineligible customers to enter can range from VND160 million to VND180 million. First and repeat offences may also lead to temporary operating suspensions.

Other violations cover incomplete customer registers, missing information and failures to retain records for the required period. The new penalty framework is due to take effect in early December, giving operators a short interval to align entry and recordkeeping procedures.

Vietnam Government News describes VNeID as the country's official electronic identification application. The casino change extends that national digital infrastructure into gaming compliance while maintaining Vietnam's restricted access rules.
