Mendoza, San Juan and San Luis have signed an agreement to connect their gambling self-exclusion registers. The arrangement is intended to stop a person who opts out in one province from accessing licensed gambling in either of the other two.
The shared system will cover land-based venues and authorised online platforms, according to the San Luis government news agency. New self-exclusions entered after the agreement will have effect across all three jurisdictions. People already on a provincial register may choose to join the regional scheme.
The regulators have given themselves up to 120 days to complete the technical connection and establish secure information exchange. The agreement joins the Mendoza Provincial Institute of Gaming and Casinos, the San Juan Social Action Fund and the San Luis Social and Financial Fund.
The signatories describe the project as Argentina's first interprovincial agreement of this kind. SBC Noticias reports that the structure remains open to other jurisdictions, which could extend the protection beyond the Cuyo region after the first three registries are operating together.
