Stephanie Lidgard of The Star Brisbane has won the 2026 Australasian Croupier Championship, finishing first in a field of 19 casino dealers from across the region. Inside Asian Gaming reported that the contest ran at Crown Melbourne from October 18 to 21.
The event tests more than the mechanics of dealing. Contestants work across blackjack, baccarat and roulette while judges assess accuracy, technical control, knowledge of the games, professionalism, customer service and the ability to stay composed under pressure.
Lidgard advanced through three days of competition before defeating the other finalists. She described the title as the highlight of her career and said the support of colleagues at The Star Brisbane contributed to the result.
Her win gives The Star's Queensland resorts a second overall champion in three years. Joanne Lee, representing The Star Gold Coast, took the same title in 2024 after competing against 26 other entrants.
