A federal judge has moved Damien LeForbes' sentencing to December 10 while seeking more detail on a proposed probation agreement. iGaming Business reports that US District Judge Monica Ramirez Almadani continued the hearing on October 15 and asked the parties to provide additional terms before she decides whether to accept a non-custodial sentence.

LeForbes pleaded guilty in 2024 to money laundering and operating an illegal gambling business. Contemporaneous reporting by the Nevada Current described a federal plea agreement under which the former poker player admitted the two offenses. The guilty plea is established; the unresolved question is the sentence.

Prosecutors have recommended probation rather than prison, with the first four months to be served in home confinement. That proposal does not bind the judge and has not yet been approved. The continuance gives the court more time to review the conditions and other sentencing issues, so reports that LeForbes will avoid prison would be premature.

The case has been discussed alongside anti-money-laundering scrutiny of Las Vegas casinos, but the current hearing concerns LeForbes' individual sentence. A City News Service report from 2024 said the statutory exposure could reach 15 years, although federal sentences depend on the guideline calculation, agreements and the judge's decision. The December hearing will determine the actual outcome.
