Namibia's government has received N$15 million from the public body that oversees gambling. The distribution relates to the regulator's 2025/2026 accounts and was made because the state is the institution's shareholder.

Two cabinet members witnessed the presentation in Windhoek. They were Indileni Daniel, who leads the environment and tourism portfolio, and Finance Minister Ericah Shafudah. An official Board notice records Daniel's positive assessment of the financial outcome.

The payment came from an organisation whose mandate covers permits, supervision and enforcement across the country's gambling industry. iGaming Afrika reports that chair Ben Shikongo also called on other profitable state-linked bodies to share part of their earnings with the public purse when they can afford to do so.

The announcement does not provide enough information to calculate the Board's profit margin or compare this distribution with earlier years. It also says nothing about the total size or profitability of Namibia's licensed market. The figure therefore represents a shareholder return from one public entity, rather than an industry revenue statistic.
