The Malta Gaming Authority has finished its targeted consultation on proposed changes to the Recognition Notice framework. The system applies to companies that use qualifying foreign gaming authorisations to provide services or supplies in or from Malta.

The regulator says stakeholder responses led it to refine the proposal. Its stated objective is a revised approach that remains proportionate, based on risk and workable for notice holders, according to the MGA's 29 October announcement.

A feedback statement has been sent directly to Recognition Notice holders and their representatives. It summarises the submissions, the regulator's position and its intended way forward, but the detailed document is not available on the MGA website. The Authority also says more information about the practical application of particular requirements will follow.

CasinoBeats reports that industry objections affected the final shape of the plan. The public record confirms that consultation feedback produced refinements, but it does not disclose every revised obligation or establish when each requirement will take effect. Operators therefore still need the regulator's forthcoming implementation guidance before treating the framework as operationally complete.
