Mainstream Group says it is exploring sports betting, casino gaming and financial services after the first month of its MainPesa LOTTO partnership with ITHUBA Tanzania. The company is looking for technology and investment partners and has set a 90-day goal for establishing those relationships, according to iGaming Afrika.

MainPesa LOTTO launched on September 23 through Mainstream Group's radio station Main FM and ITHUBA Tanzania, the National Lottery operator. The Citizen reported at launch that the product combines radio promotion and digital channels, with multiple daily draws and mobile-money prize payments after verification. Participation is restricted to adults aged 18 and over.

Mainstream business director Deogratius Mosha said the first month prompted the group to consider services beyond lottery distribution. The expansion remains an intention rather than an announced operating launch. The company has not disclosed technology suppliers, investment partners, product dates or licensing details for sports betting or casino services.

ITHUBA Tanzania says it holds an eight-year appointment to operate the country's National Lottery beginning in 2025. Main FM's role in the current partnership is to communicate game information, results and winner stories to its audience. Any move into additional gambling verticals would require further operational and regulatory steps beyond the existing lottery arrangement.
