Konami Group's Gaming & Systems division reported JPY2.41 billion in business profit for the six months ended September 30, a 154.5% increase from a year earlier. Revenue rose 41.3% to JPY25.11 billion.

The division supplies casino machines and management systems outside Japan through operations including Konami Gaming and Konami Australia. Konami credited higher unit sales in part to demand for its curved Solstice 49C cabinet, Asia Gaming Brief reports.

GGRAsia says the segment's operating margin was about 10%, compared with 5% in the prior-year period. The supplier also pointed to stable North American and Australian markets, where new casinos and replacement cycles created opportunities for machine placements.

Konami kept its full-year segment forecast at JPY46 billion in revenue and JPY6.5 billion in business profit. Its corporate overview says the business also includes the Synkros casino-management platform, so the half-year result reflects both equipment sales and recurring systems activity.
