A fraudulent website is imitating the appearance of a Brazilian government portal and claiming to release money left in online betting accounts. The page asks visitors to enter their CPF taxpayer number, displays an invented balance and then requests a Pix transfer before the supposed refund can proceed.

According to iGaming Brazil and SBT News, the fake payment is labeled an “Imposto de Liberação” and equals 15% of the balance shown. Reports say the page can invent money owed even for people who never held a betting account.

The official process described by Brazil's Ministry of Justice and Public Security directed customers first to withdraw from operators and then provided for outstanding balances to be transferred through financial institutions. It did not create a tax or Pix fee for releasing funds through a public website.

Consumers should not enter personal data or send money through links received in messages, advertisements or search results that imitate public services. Anyone who already sent a Pix transfer should contact their bank immediately through an official channel, ask about the available fraud-recovery process and preserve screenshots and transaction records for a police report.
