The Netherlands Gambling Authority has launched two public campaigns designed to make gambling harm easier to discuss and lower the barrier to seeking help. One addresses parents before problems emerge, while the other focuses on young adults who may already need support.

OpenOverGokken is aimed at parents of teenagers and young adults aged roughly 16 to 25. The KSA announcement encourages families to talk about gambling in the same way they approach other online-safety and health topics, even when there is no immediate cause for concern.

The second campaign updates the Gokstop message for young adults experiencing gambling problems or considered at higher risk. It shows that choosing to stop does not have to follow a dramatic crisis and can begin during an ordinary moment. Relatives and friends are included because they may help someone recognise harm and take the first step.

The regulator's approach combines prevention with access to practical assistance. iGaming Business reports that the campaigns build on the OpenOverGokken information portal introduced in 2025 and direct attention toward earlier conversations rather than waiting for losses or distress to escalate.
