Burkina Faso's national lottery LONAB has committed FCFA100 million to the 37th Tour du Faso. The sponsorship agreement was signed in Ouagadougou on October 23, one week before the international cycling race was due to begin.

The funding will support the organisation of the event, which runs from October 30 to November 8. The local report on the agreement says the signing brought together officials responsible for finance and sport alongside LONAB director general Ibrahim Ben Harouna Zarani.

Zarani presented the contribution as part of the lottery's social responsibility programme and its long-running support for national cycling. The sponsorship also connects a state gambling operator with one of Burkina Faso's most prominent international sporting events.

A separate Burkina Faso report says the sports ministry thanked LONAB for backing the race over successive editions. The same source confirms both the FCFA100 million amount and the 2026 competition dates.

The agreement continues a recurring sponsorship pattern rather than creating a new relationship. Its immediate significance is the confirmed funding for the latest edition and LONAB's decision to frame the investment around sport, national visibility and social cohesion.
