Brazil's Supreme Federal Court will hold a public hearing on November 3 to examine the impact of Provisional Measure 1,394/2026, which prohibits fixed-odds betting operations. The session starts at 10:00 in the court's Second Panel chamber.
The published schedule gives each participating organisation ten minutes to present its position. The hearing will be available through the court's television, radio and YouTube channels.
The Brazilian Football Confederation, several major football clubs and the Brazilian Olympic Committee are among the sports bodies listed. Federal ministries, the Attorney General's Office and betting-sector associations will also take part.
The football groups are seeking clarity for sponsorship agreements affected by the ban. UOL reports that clubs and operators have been discussing a possible transition arrangement with the government before the hearing.
Justice Luiz Fux has kept the measure in force while convening the session, according to Folha de S.Paulo. The hearing will gather legal, economic and sports-sector evidence rather than decide the dispute by itself.
