Betting companies spent an estimated R$2.12 billion on Brazilian broadcast and pay television from January 2025 through June 2026, according to a newly published Tunad study. The media-intelligence company says the amount was concentrated among a small group of advertisers.

Tunad found that the ten largest betting advertisers represented 94.2% of the sector's television spending over the measured period. The two largest alone accounted for 40%, while 93.1% of the top ten's television budget went to free-to-air channels.

A separate 2026 measure in the study puts betting-sector spending on linear broadcast television at R$542.4 million from January through August. The category led the advertiser ranking in five of those eight months and finished roughly R$100 million ahead of streaming services, Tunad reported.

The data also indicates that spending had started to retreat after the World Cup. Tunad measured a decline from R$234.2 million to R$153.5 million across two successive 39-day windows, a decrease of 34.5%. iGaming Brazil independently summarized the study's main figures. The estimates describe advertising expenditure rather than betting revenue or consumer losses.
