The screening is intended to help the German football club assess whether a potential partner fits its values and long-term commercial plans. Sportradar said its reports will examine corporate structures, ownership and licensing arrangements, key personnel, business operations and regulatory compliance. They may also flag legal or criminal proceedings that could expose Borussia Dortmund to reputational risk.
That remit places the partnership at the point where sports sponsorship, regulated betting markets and corporate governance meet. For a major rights holder, the commercial value of a deal can depend on more than the immediate fee. Licensing history, ownership transparency and conduct in regulated markets can influence how supporters, regulators and other partners view the relationship.
