Brazil's National Association of Games and Lotteries is organising potential compensation actions for member companies affected by the closure of the country's regulated fixed-odds betting market. The work is still preparatory and has not produced a court award.
In a communication reported by G3 Newswire, ANJL said it would coordinate material for possible collective litigation. Individual operators may also assess separate cases based on their circumstances and claimed losses.
The association is pursuing the compensation work while continuing its legal effort to restore operations. Its position reflects the regulated sector's challenge to Provisional Measure 1,394/2026, but the eventual availability and value of any remedy would be decided through the relevant legal process.
The National Congress record says the measure prohibits fixed-odds betting, terminates existing authorisations and sets out a transition for returning customer balances and prizes. The proposal remains under congressional consideration, with amendments forming part of the legislative record.
