The World Poker Tour will return to The Venetian Resort Las Vegas in November for a $5,000 championship carrying a $2 million guaranteed prize pool. The event begins on 5 November and forms the centrepiece of a wider festival that opens on 28 October.
Three opening flights are scheduled from 5 to 7 November, each starting at 11:10 a.m. local time. Players who advance will return for Day 2 on 8 November, followed by the next stage on 9 November and a streamed final table on 10 November, according to PokerNews.
The championship sits within The Venetian's WPT Fall Festival, which runs until 15 November and advertises nearly $4 million in total guarantees. The official venue schedule also includes a $1,100 tournament with a $500,000 guarantee, recurring bounty events, satellites and a closing $600 event guaranteed at $300,000.
The WPT championship winner will earn a place on the tour's Champions Cup. World Poker Tour said The Venetian's spring championship drew 488 entries and generated a $2.24 million prize pool, exceeding the same $2 million guarantee. Nicholas Seward won that tournament and collected $418,700.
