Valorant will return to the Esports World Cup in 2027, extending the tactical shooter's place in the multi-title event for a third consecutive year. The confirmation reported on October 28 arrives as Riot Games prepares a broader overhaul of its professional circuit. Exact competition dates, format and prize money have not yet been announced.
Riot's official outline for the 2027 Valorant Champions Tour says the season will feature more than 50 tournaments across Opens, Kickoffs, Cups, Masters and Champions. Open qualification during the season is intended to give emerging teams more routes into regional and global competition.
The new structure reduces the emphasis on long league phases. Regional Opens will feed into Cups and international events, while high-stakes tournaments will determine progress more directly. Partner teams remain part of the ecosystem, but competitive results will carry more weight in deciding how far each team advances.
The 2027 Americas season is scheduled to begin with Kickoff in São Paulo. Valorant's Esports World Cup appearance will sit alongside the official tour rather than replace it, giving organizations another international event and a route to points in the EWC Club Championship, which aggregates results across multiple games.
