The Star Entertainment Group reported positive group EBITDA of A$12 million for the three months to September 30, improving by A$25 million from the comparable period. Revenue rose 2% year on year to A$284 million.
The company's two wholly owned properties generated A$279 million in combined revenue, 5% more than a year earlier. Their aggregate segment EBITDA reached A$35 million, compared with A$14 million in the prior-year quarter, according to G3 Newswire.
The Star Sydney contributed A$162 million in revenue and A$15 million of EBITDA. Growth in electronic gaming machines partly offset weaker table-game and non-gaming activity. The Star Gold Coast produced A$117 million in revenue and A$20 million of EBITDA, supported by machine gaming and marketing activity.
The improvement does not remove the group's regulatory constraints. Sydney's casino licence remains suspended and its appointed manager is due to stay until June 30, 2027. Gold Coast's licence suspension is still deferred, with its special manager scheduled to remain through March 31, 2027.
