Polymarket US has agreed to stop offering new sports-related event contracts to customers in Michigan. The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced that QCX LLC, which operates the platform's US business, must also close remaining positions held by Michigan residents by the end of November 25.
The stipulation was approved by the US District Court for the Western District of Michigan. In exchange, state authorities agreed not to pursue enforcement action while Polymarket complies with the restrictions. Customers can close positions voluntarily before the deadline; any still open at that point must be wound down under the agreement.
The decision makes Polymarket the fourth major prediction-market service to withdraw sports contracts from Michigan after Kalshi, Robinhood and Coinbase. The industry report on the settlement places the move within continuing litigation over whether federally regulated event contracts can be restricted under state gambling law.
Michigan notified Polymarket on October 10 that it would take legal action unless the company stopped offering sports contracts to state residents. The settlement does not resolve the broader jurisdictional dispute. It establishes the operating limits in Michigan while related appeals continue through the courts.
