The Philippine gaming sector generated PHP83.72 billion in gross gaming revenue during the third quarter of 2026, an 11.4% decline from a year earlier and a 5% decrease from the previous quarter.
The contraction was concentrated in electronic gaming. GGRAsia reports that the segment fell 22.9% to PHP35.28 billion and accounted for about 42.1% of the industry total.
Licensed commercial casinos remained the largest contributor with PHP45.38 billion, down 0.4% year on year. PAGCOR-operated Casino Filipino venues generated PHP3.03 billion, a 4.8% decrease. Focus Gaming News reported the same segment totals.
PAGCOR chairman Alejandro Tengco attributed the weaker performance partly to inflationary pressure and geopolitical uncertainty affecting discretionary spending. He also noted that the pace of the annual decline eased from the second quarter.
The regulator's second-quarter release recorded a 20.33% annual fall to PHP88.13 billion. The latest figures therefore show a slower year-on-year contraction, even as total revenue declined again from quarter to quarter.
