A 25-year development effort has moved into operation beside Highway 99 in Madera. North Fork Mono Casino began receiving guests on October 27, giving the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians a new economic base in California's Central Valley. The completed first stage cost roughly $750 million.

Station Casinos manages the venue for the tribe. Indian Gaming describes a 100,000-square-foot gaming area with over 2,400 electronic games and 40 live tables. The property also designates non-smoking sections and includes a cultural display wall.

Food and beverage operations are spread across eight venues, while four bars and approximately 4,000 vehicle spaces support the opening configuration. The casino's current website lists round-the-clock operation and confirms the available gaming and restaurant choices.

A resort component has not opened with the casino. G3 Newswire says later plans call for 200 hotel rooms together with leisure, parking and meeting facilities. Because the tribe has not set a construction timetable for that stage, the hotel should be treated as a future proposal rather than an operating amenity.
