Nebraska voters will decide on November 3 whether to authorize and regulate online sports betting through Initiatives 440 and 441. The state's official ballot pamphlet explains that one measure would amend the constitution and the other would establish the statutory framework.

The campaign has become more visible in its final days. Former Nebraska football coach Tom Osborne and 44 other current or former Huskers athletes and coaches signed a letter urging voters to reject both measures, according to Nebraska Public Media.

Opponents argue that mobile access would increase gambling harm and expose athletes and families to greater risks. Supporters say a regulated market would channel activity already occurring through offshore sites or neighboring states and create state revenue. Those claims remain campaign positions rather than settled forecasts.

Nebraska Examiner reports that ballot sponsors and state lawmakers are defending the proposal as opponents broaden their coalition. Approval requires voters to support the paired constitutional and statutory questions.
