The International Association of Gaming Regulators concluded its 2026 annual conference in Lima after four days of sessions from October 19 to 22. Peru's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism reported that nearly 200 representatives of regulatory and public bodies attended.
The official conference overview framed the meeting around cross-border cooperation and practical responses to technology-driven changes in gambling. Sessions covered artificial intelligence, payments, illegal gambling, financial crime, data protection and market integrity.
Peru's regulatory agenda formed part of the opening program. The published agenda included a host-country keynote on market formalization, player protection, responsible gambling and oversight of remote gaming and sports betting. It also featured workshops and a technology showcase aimed at regulatory applications rather than consumer products.
IAGR describes itself as an independent, regulator-led organization focused on improving gambling oversight. Its return to Lima followed an earlier conference in the city in 2015 and gave Peru an international forum for presenting its current regulatory approach.
