The Florida Gaming Control Commission has received the International Association of Gaming Regulators' 2026 Regulatory Excellence Award. IAGR presents the annual honor to a regulator for work in gaming policy, regulation, compliance or enforcement.
In the commission's October 26 announcement, IAGR chief executive Kevin Mullally credited Florida's coordinated approach to combating illegal gambling and its collaboration with other agencies. FGCC chair Julie Brown said the award recognized the commission's team and public-sector partners.
The regulator says it has seized more than 14,000 illegal slot machines and more than $24 million in illegal gambling proceeds since its creation in July 2022. It also reports closing 184 illegal gambling arcades and making 160 arrests during the past year. These figures are the commission's own enforcement totals.
FGCC regulates authorized gambling in Florida outside the state lottery, including pari-mutuel wagering, cardrooms and licensed slot facilities. The award announcement comes as the agency continues joint enforcement work against unlicensed gambling operations.
