The International Association of Gaming Regulators will hold its first Illegal Gambling Awareness Week from November 9 to 13, creating a coordinated public campaign across member jurisdictions. The dates and campaign session appear in IAGR's official Lima conference programme.
The initiative asks consumers to check whether an online gambling site is licensed where they play before depositing money. Participating regulators will use shared communications materials while adapting licensing information to their own jurisdictions.
CDC Gaming reports that IAGR is highlighting practical risks from unlicensed sites, including unpaid winnings, limited dispute resolution, misuse of customer data and the absence of locally required safer-gambling protections.
IAGR outlined the campaign at its annual conference in Lima, according to G3 Newswire. The programme also introduces tools intended to help consumers verify operator status and regulators identify illegal supply more effectively.
