Flutter Brazil is withdrawing the Betfair brand from Brazil and plans to focus any future local operation on Betnacional. The decision follows a strategic review after the country's fixed-odds betting prohibition halted commercial activity, according to NEXT.io.
The restructuring also includes staff reductions, although the company has not published a confirmed number of affected positions. Flutter Brazil said that concentrating on one brand will simplify its operation and allow it to direct resources and experience toward Betnacional if regulatory clarity permits a return. The company has not announced a reopening date.
Flutter ceased sports betting and iGaming in Brazil after the provisional measure announced on September 25. It said at the time that it was examining available options, including a possible appeal, while continuing discussions with Brazilian authorities.
A company filing published through the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission estimated that the suspension could reduce 2026 revenue by about $70 million and adjusted EBITDA by roughly $20 million. The decision to retire Betfair in Brazil now turns that regulatory interruption into a longer-term brand consolidation. Betnacional remains Flutter's designated local vehicle, but any resumed betting activity still depends on a change in the legal position.
