Colombia has been placed among the thirty countries with the highest monthly online-gambling participation in a new international comparison. The country registered a 13.8% rate among internet users aged 16 and older, according to the ranking published by Visual Capitalist from DataReportal figures.

The denominator matters. The percentage describes connected users in the survey's age range, not 13.8% of Colombia's entire population, and it is not a count of licensed betting accounts. DataReportal's country report estimated 41.7 million internet users in Colombia at the end of 2025, with internet penetration at 77.8%.

Within South America, Brazil ranked higher at 19%, followed by Chile at 16.6%, while Colombia's 13.8% placed it third among the region's countries included in the top thirty. The comparison was led globally by South Africa at 32.3% and Norway at 31.2%. These survey rates allow broad behavioural comparison but do not show whether participation occurred through licensed sites.

Separate regulatory data confirm strong activity in Colombia's supervised market. Coljuegos reported COP 473.023 billion in revenue collected from online sports betting between January and August 2026, an 84.24% year-over-year increase that the regulator linked mainly to World Cup activity. That figure measures public revenue from regulated operators and should not be treated as another expression of the survey participation rate.
