Lotería del Chubut has opened a public tender for the administration and operation of a casino and an annex gaming room in Esquel. The provincial process was reported this week by G3 Newswire and two Argentine industry and local outlets.
The tender terms require the successful concessionaire to bring former casino employees back gradually as the operation's needs justify. SoloAzar's account of the conditions says the obligation is phased rather than an immediate reinstatement of the entire former workforce.
The plan also faces a practical property issue. The building used by the previous operator is under judicial attachment following workers' claims, according to ADNSUR's October 21 report. The attachment does not cancel the tender, but it leaves the eventual operator facing uncertainty over whether the former premises can be used or another site will be needed.
The reopening therefore depends on more than selecting a bidder. A concessionaire would still need to address the venue, organize a phased staffing plan and satisfy the provincial rules administered by Lotería del Chubut. No firm reopening date has been announced in the reports reviewed.
