Wildz Group is preparing a broad launch in Finland's newly licensed online gambling market, with chief executive Sam Brown saying the company intends to introduce 11 brands. The figure is a company plan rather than a completed rollout, and Brown said further licence applications are likely as Wildz decides how to divide the brands across approvals (iGaming Business).
The timing is set by Finland's regulatory transition. The country's police authority says gambling will become a licensed activity on 1 July 2027 and that licences granted during the transition cannot take effect before that date. The National Police Board handles applications during 2026, before supervision and licensing move to the new Supervisory Agency in July 2027 (Police of Finland).
Wildz has said it received a formal approval letter from the National Police Board. That announcement has been reported by industry publications, but the regulator had not published individual licensing decisions when the reports were retrieved. The approval should therefore be understood as company-announced rather than independently documented in a public regulator list (European Gaming).
Brown told iGaming Business that the planned portfolio will lean toward online casino, alongside a smaller sportsbook offering. He also said Wildz is building the Finnish products on its own technology instead of adapting a generic international platform. That approach gives the group control over local compliance and product design, but producing 11 separate Finnish-facing services leaves substantial work before launch (iGaming Business).
The multi-brand plan is not yet final. Brown described additional licence applications and the allocation of brands between them as likely, not confirmed. That distinction matters because each product must operate within Finland's rules, and the official framework says gambling activity may begin only after the relevant licence has entered into force (Police of Finland).
For Finland, the Wildz plan offers an early look at how operators may approach the move away from an online monopoly. For Wildz, the next phase is less about the headline number of brands than about converting an announced strategy into compliant products ready for the July 2027 opening.
