SPORTEL Monaco ended its 2026 edition on Wednesday after three days at the Grimaldi Forum, bringing the sports media and technology market together as the sector works through another shift in distribution, production and audience data. The organizer and the venue list the convention dates as October 19 to 21. SPORTEL describes the gathering as a marketplace for rights holders, broadcasters, technology companies and other sports-business decision makers.

Luiz Vinicius reported for iGaming Brazil that the 36th edition attracted 1,962 participants from 73 countries. The report put company attendance at 780, with 166 taking part for the first time, and said the exhibition occupied 8,500 square metres. Those figures provide a useful measure of the event's reach, although they have not been independently audited by FairDealer.

The agenda showed how far the conversation has moved beyond the traditional sale of broadcast rights. SPORTEL's published programme included sessions on AI governance, live-production choices, digital distribution, investment and monetisation. Betting also appeared within the wider sports-business discussion, alongside data and new content models.

That mix matters for gambling operators and suppliers because sports coverage is increasingly shaped by the same technology stack that handles audience acquisition, streaming and real-time engagement. It also puts more weight on responsible data use and clear editorial control when automated tools enter production workflows. The conference programme treated those questions as commercial decisions rather than distant experiments.

SPORTEL's next international gathering is scheduled for Toronto on March 23 and 24, 2027, according to the iGaming Brazil report. For the Monaco edition, the lasting signal was not a single product launch. It was the concentration of rights, media, technology and investment discussions in one market at a moment when each is becoming harder to separate.
