A newly manufactured version of the mechanical Sigma Derby horse-racing game is planned to make its casino-floor debut at Four Queens in downtown Las Vegas by the end of 2026. The project brings the cult 1980s format back into production with modern payments and serviceable components.
CDC Gaming reports that Next Gaming, Highbrow Gaming and VSR Industries worked together on the machine. The design keeps the oval track, moving horses and ten-player social layout while replacing the original coin-only operation with bill validation and ticket-in ticket-out technology.
Players will be able to select wagering units from 25 cents to USD5, and the machine includes a display of previous winners. Operators can choose a theoretical return-to-player setting between 86% and 94%. The developers say the internal track technology was re-engineered to improve access for maintenance while preserving the visual character of the original.
Las Vegas Advisor notes that the only surviving original Sigma Derby in Las Vegas now operates at Golden Gate. The Four Queens installation is intended to test the new model in continuous casino use before broader distribution, with other properties also reported to have expressed interest.
