Ivelin Kolev won the 2026 WPT Prime Cyprus Championship, taking the title after defeating Said Tahar heads-up. The World Poker Tour listed Kolev's first-place package at $171,600, including a $10,400 entry to the season-ending WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas.

The event drew 953 entries, according to the official Day 2 tournament update. Kolev began the eight-player final table with 4.525 million chips, while Tahar held the lead with 12 million.

Kolev had built a substantial advantage by the start of heads-up play. The WPT's final live report recorded his stack at 32.95 million against Tahar's 5.175 million before the last duel.

On the deciding hand, Kolev completed a seven-high straight and moved all in on the river. Tahar called with two pair, ending the tournament in second place for $100,000. Joseph El Khoury finished third for $74,000.

A current PokerNews report independently confirms Kolev's victory and the headline award. The published $171,600 figure is a total prize package rather than entirely cash because it includes the World Championship seat.
