A change at the top of Galaxy Gaming took effect on October 21, with John M. Boushy joining the board seat vacated by Meredith Brill. Brill leaves after a four-year term as one of the company's Class II directors.

No explanation for the departure appears in the formal company notice. The wording describes a replacement in an existing position, so the announcement does not indicate that Galaxy enlarged its board.

Boushy now runs an advisory practice serving gaming businesses and investors. His operating background includes leading Ameristar Casinos as its president and chief executive. Before that, he spent more than two decades at Harrah's in jobs spanning construction, marketing systems, casino operations and corporate integration. He also worked on the combination of Harrah's and Caesars.

Board chair Mark Lipparelli linked the selection to Galaxy's needs in technology, transactions and governance. That assessment expresses management's rationale for the appointment. It should not be read as evidence that the new director has already changed the company's performance.

A separate industry report matches the effective date and succession details. Galaxy supplies proprietary table-game content and supporting systems to physical venues and internet casinos.
