Deadwood's regulated gaming market recorded US$16.865 million in statistical win during September, about 11% more than a year earlier. Total wagering across slots, table games and retail sports betting reached US$171.9 million, according to the South Dakota Department of Revenue's monthly report.
Slot machines remained the main source of operator win. The 2,776 reporting units produced US$15.306 million from US$162.8 million wagered, with an average payout of 90.6%. One-cent machines alone accounted for US$13.148 million of win and US$138.0 million of handle.
Table games generated US$1.423 million from US$8.35 million wagered. Blackjack led the category with US$598,084, followed closely by house-banked poker at US$576,336. Retail sportsbooks reported US$136,514 in win on handle of US$774,837.
CDC Gaming's year-over-year analysis places slot growth at 11.1% and table-game growth at 10.5%. It reports that one-cent slot win increased 13%, while blackjack rose 19.3%. Percentage changes in small denominations can be volatile, so the largest rates do not necessarily represent the largest dollar contributions.
After promotional and other statutory adjustments, taxable adjusted gross revenue was US$16.084 million. The state's 9% gaming tax produced US$1.448 million for September. The figures cover the limited-wagering market regulated in Deadwood and should not be read as statewide online-casino revenue.
