The Curaçao Gaming Authority (CGA) has announced an interim online gaming portal as it moves away from its previous regulatory platform. An important notice on the CGA website says the interim portal was scheduled to launch on 19 October 2026.
Old portal will not return
The regulator had already said on 7 October that its former online gaming portal would not return to service. In its official transition notice, the CGA said it was moving to a new platform while maintaining its regulatory work through alternative arrangements and an interim solution.
The same notice linked the transition to the authority's response to an unauthorized-access incident. It said the CGA was continuing containment work and efforts to protect its regulatory functions and information assets. The official material reviewed for this article does not establish which individual companies or people, if any, had information exposed, so no such claim is included here.
Existing licences remain in force
The CGA said discontinuing the former portal did not affect the validity of existing licences. It also said licensed operators' obligations remained in place and that licensing, compliance and supervision activities would continue.
The distinction matters. A portal is the administrative channel used for regulatory work, while a licence derives from the regulator's legal decision. The platform change therefore should not be read as a blanket cancellation or approval of any operator.
Players should use official checks
For players, the announcement is mainly a regulatory-infrastructure update. It does not by itself verify the status, safety or conduct of any individual gambling website. Anyone checking an operator should use current information published through the regulator's official channels and avoid relying on a seal, screenshot or third-party claim without confirmation.
The CGA said it intended to introduce an alternative way for operators to demonstrate that a domain is licensed. Until the regulator publishes complete operational details, players and industry participants should treat the CGA website as the authoritative place for updates rather than drawing conclusions from the retired portal.
