Cambodia's commercial gambling regulator is consulting revenue agencies on an online payment system for gambling duties and other regulatory receipts. The proposal remains at the planning stage and has not yet been launched.
The General Secretariat of the Commercial Gambling Management Commission discussed the project at an October 19 meeting with representatives of the General Department of Taxation, General Department of Customs and Excise, Department of State Property and Non-Tax Revenue, and National Treasury Department. A current Asia Gaming Brief report says the intended system would support the collection and management of gambling duties and revenue due to the regulator.
The consultation covers both operating procedures and the information technology needed to record payments. That distinction matters because the latest update describes inter-agency design work, not a new payment obligation or a live portal for operators.
A second report on the regulator's update says the secretariat is gathering views from the participating bodies before developing standard procedures and the system itself.
Officials have not announced an implementation date, technical specification, list of covered payers or whether the online channel would replace existing procedures. Operators therefore have a policy signal to monitor, but no published change to payment steps can yet be inferred from the meeting.
