Player-protection initiative 1xCare and Spain's federation for rehabilitated gamblers, FEJAR, have signed a memorandum to explore joint work on preventing gambling harm and widening access to support. The agreement covers education, evidence-based practice and possible backing for FEJAR's online services, according to the announcement reported by G3 Newswire.
The memorandum is a cooperation framework rather than a commitment to a named funded programme. Any financing, defined service or processing of personal data would require a separate written agreement, due diligence and approval under each organisation's governance procedures. The partnership is also non-exclusive.
Safeguards in the document leave FEJAR responsible for its professional methods, therapy and decisions concerning individual beneficiaries. The parties say support cannot depend on endorsing a commercial operator or product, cannot be used for marketing or customer acquisition and will not give 1xCare or donors access to beneficiaries or influence over their care. Confidentiality and data protection are to remain subject to the EU General Data Protection Regulation.
FEJAR's online therapy page says its existing service is intended for people who cannot attend one of its centres because of geographic or personal barriers. The federation offers a confidential help line alongside its remote treatment route.
1xCare was established by the owner of the 1xBet trademark and says it groups research, education, technology and player well-being work. That commercial connection makes the independence provisions material. The agreement's practical value will depend on the specific projects later approved and on whether the promised separation between support and promotion is maintained.
